Quick Update: What I’ve Been Focused On lately

I’ve been deep in three areas: leading underwriting, building intelligent systems, and restructuring how I work and think.

professionally, things have been shifting in meaningful ways. I’ve taken on broader ownership across AI systems design, data workflows, and operational strategy. It’s been intense, rewarding, and deeply clarifying. There’s more to the story that I’ll share when the time is right.

I also started managing my first direct report. That shift has challenged me to translate instinct into structure and turn my own habits into something teachable. It’s pushed me to think more like a builder and less like a solo operator.

On the personal side, I’ve been focused on becoming sharper, healthier, and more structured. I’ve made major progress this year on physical health – tracking mobility, diet, strength, and sleep daily, and rebuilding my body after years of neglect. I’m leaning into data and discipline: weekly logs, continuous feedback loops, and structured reflection. Not in pursuit of perfection, but progress I can measure.

I’ve also been investing time into writing, consolidating old notes, and building a digital foundation that brings order to the chaos. Journals, conversations, frameworks, systems… it’s all starting to take shape into something useful, not just for me, but hopefully for others too.

Outside of that, Gretchen and I are planning our wedding for August 2026. That part is less structured, more joyful, and very real.

There’s more ahead, some planned and some unknown. For now, I’m focused on building what’s in front of me and documenting the process as I go.
