there’s been a pattern in my life: too much “ing” and not enough doing. I’ve been caught up in endless cycles of doing, thinking, contemplating, dreaming, wishing, scheming, brainstorming, procrastinating, and even quitting. The “ing” has become a trap, keeping me from actually finishing or executing anything. Each idea, each plan, gets lost in the whirlpool of over-analysis and hesitation.
enough is enough. Here we are, at a point, maybe a turning one. I’ve decided to use this blog as my cognitive dumping ground. This is where I’ll pour out all the unfinished thoughts, the half-baked plans, and the seeds of ideas that have been floating around in my head. It’s time to declutter my mind and take action, even if it’s just the action of writing (typing) it all down.
What’s the worst that can happen? Maybe some of these thoughts will still go nowhere, maybe some plans will remain just plans. But at least I’ll have done something. I’ll have taken the first step, and sometimes, that’s all it takes to build momentum. By putting these thoughts into words, I’m making a commitment to move forward, to stop the endless cycle of “ing” and start the process of doing.
