What are your future travel plans?
I can’t get the Pyramids out of my head. Honestly, I’ve been chewing on this for as long as I can remember. Back in elementary school, I even built a cardboard replica for a history project. I painted every block by hand and tried to explain how they were constructed with ramps and sleds like I knew what I was talking about. Clearly, the obsession started early.
And it hasn’t let go.
Now, when I think about future travel plans, it’s not beaches or cities that come to mind. It’s Egypt. It’s Giza. It’s standing in front of the Great Pyramid and feeling time punch me in the chest. The idea of walking across a landscape that’s been ancient since before the concept of “ancient” existed? That kind of encounter messes with your sense of scale in the best way.
This isn’t about crossing something off a list. It’s something deeper. I want to see the sun cut across the limestone. I want to feel how small I am beside stone that has endured longer than most civilizations. I want to stand where pharaohs, grave robbers, and dreamers have stood. Maybe it’s nostalgia, maybe it’s curiosity, maybe it’s just long-overdue follow-through on a childhood fascination, but the pyramids are calling.
No flight booked yet. But I’ll get there. They’ve waited 4,500 years. They can wait a little longer for me.
